Earlier this week, Kokes Properties was pleased to host the Rowan Real Estate Group (RREG) at its newest multifamily community The Mill at Riverside. Led by Daniel Bottiglieri, RREG is comprised of entrepreneurial undergraduate students who aspire to become future industry leaders in real estate. RREG routinely meets with industry executives to gain quality insights and exposure to development projects that are shaping the fabric of our communities.

Elisabeth Brook Parker, Employer Relations Associate for the Center of Professional Development, reflected on the day saying, “Experiencing the development process first-hand offers unparalleled educational benefits to our students that can’t be replicated in a classroom. It really is invaluable.” On the tour, students were able to ask questions and to witness the various stages of large-scale housing construction. The Mill is a transit-oriented multifamily community consisting of 190 apartments being developed and managed by Kokes Properties

“Prior to COVID, I always took great pride in meeting and speaking with undergraduate and vocational students with various backgrounds who shared my passion for real estate,” said Michael J. Kokes, President of Kokes Properties. “After two years of health restrictions inhibiting these kinds of social gatherings, it was wonderful to interact with Rowan’s bright and engaging young minds, who not only impressed me with their thoughtful questions but also with their eagerness to learn more about development.”

“For an industry that has been severely hampered by an ongoing labor shortage, the importance of mentorship and student outreach cannot be understated. The young men and women of RREG have a tremendous opportunity to carry our industry’s torch in the future, and it is incumbent upon me and other real estate professionals to ensure that we do our part today to position them for success tomorrow so that our industry may continue to thrive,” concluded Kokes.
